Abstract

|
Although several possible etiologies for endometriosis have been proposed, it is clear that retrograde menstraation plays a significant role in the development of this disease. Retrograde menstrual flow is a frequent finding in a patient with -outflow obstruction, such as Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser(MRKH) syndrome.
The MRKH syndrome refers to a condition which presents as a blindly ending shallow vagina with absence of the upper vagina and partial or complete absence of the uterine cervix and corpus, and frequently accompanies renal or skeletal abnormalities.
Recently, we experienced a case of endometriosis in association with MRKH syndrome in young woman. We present this case with a brief review of literatures.
